Strengthening U.S.–Mexico Maritime Partnerships

As part of our ongoing commitment to expanding cross-border collaboration in the maritime and energy sectors, our leadership team recently visited the Astillero de Mérida in Yucatán. The visit focused on reviewing current and upcoming infrastructure projects, operational capabilities, and the strategic role the region plays within the Gulf of Mexico corridor.

The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including Justin A. Thomas, U.S. Consul in Yucatán, Rolando Tovar, Managing Director, and senior representatives of the shipyard. Discussions centered on strengthening maritime cooperation between Mexico and the United States, improving logistical integration along the Gulf Coast, and reinforcing the region’s position as a strategic gateway connecting U.S. ports such as Houston and Louisiana with Latin American markets.
